The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence in Hudson is looking for volunteers.
About 150 people are needed to volunteer at the centre during the average week and the bank of volunteers tends to drop off as winter approaches.
While the residence does benefit from some government funding, more than half of its budget comes in the form of donations and community fund raising events.
Volunteers play a big role in fundraising but aren’t limited to that area.
Help is needed in all facets of the hospice’s operation from entertaining patients to answering phones, gardening, kitchen work and housekeeping.
Off-site help is needed as well; volunteers often drop off baked goods, help with fundraising or organize events.
If you have some time and want to help a vital part of pour community, contact the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence at 450-202-2202 or through their website mspvs.org/en .
