Public Health Canada Warns To Avoid Romaine Lettuce

Public health officials are advising people in eastern Canada to
consider avoiding romaine lettuce because of the risk of E. coli
contamination.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says one person has died and
40 have gotten sick in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
Ten additional cases have been reported, and the investigation
continues.
The agency says the cases appear to be associated with the
consumption of romaine lettuce.
Those who became ill range in age from four to 80, and most were
female.
