Montreal born, raised on the West Island. A retired retailer, former City Councillor for the City of Beaconsfield, I have been reporting community news for local newspapers and The West Island Blog for the past five years. Over the past four and a half years West Island Blog has seen more than 7 million visits and boasts 100,000 in traffic per month on Facebook. I started out with Ted and Tom on the morning show sharing much-needed community resources with Jewel’s listeners. I can be found on Global Television once a month for The Best of the West. I can be found at many charitable events. My mission is to unite the community through my blog and my show on Jewel where I will highlight community, its groups and its residents.
Favourite Food: I can often be found at the Ste. Anne’s Market on Saturday mornings choosing my local produce. I love knowing I am eating as local as possible. I grow my own herbs and lettuce every summer. My favorite meal is my mother’s spaghetti with meat sauce. She is an excellent cook and always has the family gathering around food.
Favourite Movie: Erin Brockovich, Julia Roberts played an American legal clerk and environmental activist, who, despite her lack of formal education in the law, was instrumental in building a case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company of California in 1993. She beat the odds of taking on the big guys and won. It was hard work but it paid off. I respect that.
Favourite Activities: I am a jack of all trades master of none. I love to read, paint, draw and cook. I have taken Italian cooking lessons in Hudson for 15 years. I love to work out, the harder the better. What’s the point if you just glide through it? I love to swim too!!
Favourite Artists: I am an artist and I come from a long line of artists. Paint, draw, pottery, food styling you name it, one of my cousins do it. I meet so many worthy West Island artists that it would be hard to choose. Renate Heidersdorf is incredible as well as Helmut Langeder, both local talent that sets the bar high for the wanna bes.
