Make Sure You Aren’t On Thin Ice

Being in an area that features an abundance of water lends itself to any number of winter activities on frozen lakes, rivers and ponds.

Just because temperatures have been below freezing and ice has formed, doesn’t necessarily mean that the ice is safe.

Skating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and even ice fishing are all popular winter activities.

Although, I have never understood the allure of ice fishing; just how badly do you need a fish?

Anyway, if you enjoy it, go right ahead and have fun.

The point of all this is, safety.
Before you head out on to the ice make sure it can support you.
