Vaudreuil-Soulanges MP Peter Schiefke has launched an initiative aimed at raising awareness of the Hébergement La Passerelle, a shelter that provides services and support to women and their children fleeing domestic violence.
The drive is a way of marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th.
Mr. Schiefke will be accepting donations at his riding office ( 223 avenue Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion) between now and the 24th then volunteers will be needed on the 25th to package those donations.
Here’s a list of the items that are needed:

Gift certificates of all kinds (grocery, pharmacy, Walmart, Canadian Tire, ToysRUs, etc.)
Arts & craft supplies (coloring books, crayons, coloured pencils, scissors, sharpeners, paper, paint, play dough, etc.)
Board games for all ages
Decks of cards
Movies (DVDs) for all ages
Sporting Equipment (balls, baseball gloves, etc.)
Pajamas, dressing gowns, slippers, underwear – all sizes and genders
Volunteers are requested to help make-up baskets on Saturday, November 25th, between 10 a.m. and noon at Mr. Schiefke’s riding office, 223 avenue Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion . Space is limited, so if you are available, please contact the constituency office to add your name to the list of volunteers.
