The power of social media is being put to positive use in the aftermath of last Friday’s junior hockey bus crash in rural Saskatchewan. Tom Whelan joined the #sticksoutside #fortheboys campaign sweeping Twitter, and I posted a live Facebook video with some personal reflections on the tragedy that seemed to resonate. In my lifetime, I can’t recall an event that has motivated Canadians to close ranks the way we’ve rallied around our brothers and sisters in Humboldt, Saskatchewan – demonstrating once again that the worst of times brings out the best in people.
Some thoughts on Humboldt.
