We had a great visit this morning with St. Lazare resident Stephen Evans – a kidney transplant recipient who’s off to Malaga, Spain this month to defend his discus-throwing title at the World Transplant Games (possibly the only athletic competition where you’re disqualified for NOT being on drugs). For someone who’s down to his best friend’s second to last kidney, Stephen has a terrific sense of humour, which he uses to deliver a deadly serious message about a shortage of organ donors. It was a pleasure to have him in-studio. Please click on the link below to listen to the interview. (Photo credit: MUHC)
Three men, five kidneys.
