This is an impressive campaign, not only because we are addressing a key issue in our community, but also because it is the first time that so many organizations as well citizens have reunited their forces to work collectively in improving the quality of life for the West Island population.
In 2016, many organizations came together to look at they key issues our community faces. The West Island is perceived as one filled with wealth and without struggles. This couldn’t be farther than the truth. This perception leads to covering up the struggles and making those in need INVISIBLE.
Our objectives with this campaign is to increase awareness of the issues regarding food insecurity as well as the resources available in our community, food literacy (education) and finally political action.
